This is a delightful small Guest House in Portinscale, close to Keswick. The owners Stuart & Cath were very welcoming, helpful and friendly, and took great pains to know our names and to introduce us to our fellow guests at breakfast time – just 4 other people. The food was delicious. It is a charming Edwardian house with a cosy living room and our bedroom was very comfortable indeed with a large ensuite with relaxing decor. Tea & coffee are available in the bedroom but the truly lovely finishing touches were delicious home made biscuts and a tasty raspberry liqueur!
Parking is a little tight off road but was not problematic and the entrance to the Guest House is up a flight of stairs.
It is a tranquil base from which we were able to have lovely walks locally including to CatsBells up above Derwent Water.
