A brilliant archaeological site where the Minoans once resided. I will not spoil the history – as it’s so much better to hear it from the Greek people. Do pay for a private tour – hooking in with others and splitting the difference. This gives you more time and a personal tour. The cafes and restaurants opposite are brilliant and welcoming too.
