We visited this tearoom in early May as we wanted to share it with a friend. The ambiance is excellent – all wood panels, gorgeous vintage tea cups and staff in traditional aprons. What was even better however is the food! I have been to Kitty’s a few times and the cakes are to die for (and they usually have gluten free and can tell you all the ingredients of each luscious cake). We were less certain however of the main courses but we need not have worried. Though not a wide choice as it is a small place, there was plenty for us veggies. My other half had a great Summer casserole with herby mashed potato, it was in a light but fresh tomato sauce with a mixture of beans and I was quite sorry I had not gone for it. My friend had the cheese and leek quiche and said that it was the best quiche she had ever had in her life– as she is in her 50’s she has eaten plenty of them!. We also all succumbed to cake and were not disappointed, fabulous as usual though I missed out on the hazelnut gluten free cake as it was scheduled for cooking the next day. The establishment is run by two sisters who obviously love their work and would be happy to cater for special requirements. Be warned though – it is closed October to Easter!.
