“More about the Keukenhof Gardens”:https://www.theplatinumline.blog/cruising-the-dutch-waterways-and-a-visit-to-the-keukenhof-bulb-gardens/
The Keukenhof gardens were developed seventy years ago as a showcase for Dutch bulb growers who were having a hard time re-establishing themselves after the second world war. Nowadays over 100 growers exhibit here every year and millions of bulbs are planted over several acres of landscaped gardens. Holland is the world’s largest exporter of bulbs and here you can see the very best.
The gardens also have a large lake complete with waterfowl and even a small windmill you can climb for a panoramic view of the park. There are large indoor display areas, several restaurants and of course shops where you can buy bulbs to take home and other souvenirs. They are open between March and May.
We visited in April and I felt they lived up to their slogan “the best Spring garden in Europe”. When we visited boys from the Dutch version of Billy Elliot were entertaining the crowds.”
