Reasons for trip

I went on my first coach trip (I am 57) with my elderly mother to see the Cirque du Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall in London, which included an overnight stay. I have to say it will also be my last coach holiday with this company. We boarded the coach in Weymouth which is on the south coast and after picking up others on the way up to London we headed for our hotel. Here is where the company made a mistake in my view as they had booked us into a hotel in Harlow, which is the complete opposite side of London to where we were coming from. Thus we had a very long trip around the M25 to get to our hotel. We then had a couple of hours before getting back on the coach to head to central London to see the show. This took about 2 hours with road works and the fact that we were quite a way out from the centre. Show was brilliant (highly recommend Cirque du Soleil) but then back on the coach for another couple of hours to get back to our hotel (hotel was fine). The next day we were supposed to get some free time in London but as the journey to the centre of London took 3 hours!!! We had just an hour to grab a bite to eat before heading back to Weymouth. My poor mum’s legs were aching considerably by the time we got back home as we had spent a very long day in a coach with just one hour in London and half an hour in a service station. Not my idea of fun. Whilst I appreciate Just Go Holidays have to keep cost down so use hotels outside of London, why could then not use one to the South of London, which would have saved considerable travel time. As it was, i think it would have been quicker if we had stayed in Southampton! I wrote to complain and they said they would pass on my comments to the Tour Planning Team but no guarantee this won’t happen again, so be warned!
