Reasons for trip

At 68 years of age I visited Jersey for the first time in May 2018. It was Liberation week so many events going on. I had read about Jersey but nothing prepared me for the beauty of the island. My daughter accompanied me and we hired a car for a week. Easy driving with mostly 30 mph speed limits, and many 20mph limits as well. So relaxing! Marvellous places to eat everywhere and I couldn’t wait to return. Booked a week on my own 6 months later in September. Travelled around by bus this time. Bought a weekly ticket which allowed me to hop on and hop off anywhere. The people are so friendly and I felt so relaxed. Met quite a few people holidaying on their own and felt completely safe everywhere on the island. I also bought a discounted ticket which allowed me to visit 4 attractions more than once. I went on the duck boat over to Elizabeth Castle 3 times. Quite accessible and easily walked round. The tour guides are so knowledgeable. Also Mont Orgueil Castle in Gorey fascinated me but many steps to get to the top so need to be fit. For such a small island there is much to see and there are many places I didn’t get to so when travel allowed after the pandemic this will be my first holiday to book.
