Reasons for trip

The Pula area of Croatia is a perfect holiday location located on the Adriatic Sea and protected by thousands of off shore islands located just off the coast, perfect for sailing
There are many interesting features remaining from earlier occupiers which included the Phenisions, Romans and the Austrian Hungarian Empire including the Collasium in Pula which is one of the largest and most complete in Europe. The shore line is marked by a white pebble beach backed by a forest of pine trees with many small ports and towns
built in the Italian style with many old churches marked by tall separate bell towers.
There is a wide cycling/walking path from Pula to Fanzana along the coast. Fanzana is the port for the ferry to Brioni National Park where Tito the President of Yogoslavia had his holiday home .This island was developed by the Austrian Hungarian Empire as a holiday centre to entertain the aristocracy of Europe in the late 19th century and early 20th with its own golf course, zoo and sea based excersize cures. You can now explore the island by tourist train or hire a golf buggy. Many exotic animals can be seen in the zoo These animals were gifts to Tito by world leaders. The weather from April to October is ideal for a holiday at reasonable cost.
