Don't be mislead by the use of the word 'Inn'. In Canada it is applied to a private home offering bed and breakfast.
This is a large modern house set above the road in huge grounds with plenty of parking. Buddy a very soft Siberian Huskie was ‘on guard’ on the veranda. We were welcomed with cup of tea and scone – a much appreciated gesture after a long drive.
There was a big living room downstairs with kitchen/dining room off. An open staircase lead up to a large landing area with comfy chairs and books to read (including ones on birds and flowers).
We had a huge bedroom at the end of the landing with a window looking out over the garden and an alcove window with bench looking out to sea. There was a queen size bed – comfortable but a bit soft for us with plenty of extra pillows and blankets. There was a big bathroom with lots of nice towels.
There was internet but it tended to cut in and out.
We were recommended to eat in the Little Denier Restaurant, 5minute drive away. This was a pleasant, no frills place, serving ‘proper’ food rather than the usual fries, burgers and batter style menus.
Breakfast was porridge, fruit juice, yogurt, blueberries, fried egg and 2 slices toast with home made jam.
It was raining steadily when we left. The dog was lying on the veranda with his nose firmly tucked away and looking decidedly fed up.
