The Imperial War Museum North is a great venue in the middle of Salford Quays. It has good bus and tram links and plenty of parking for cars. It’s a very moving display but don’t expect it to be like the other Imperial War Museums and don’t expect to see it all and digest its information on one visit as it is a museum not only for the military enthusiast but also for those seeking to understand other aspects of conflict. My criticism would be that it’s very limited in what it does display and the layout could be a little better. Admission is free to all and as it is part of the Media city complex so there is plenty to do in the immediate area and Its right next to Granada Studios. However be warned though the area is being redeveloped so expect road works and buildings which looks a bit run down.
