This was a very last minute break booked directly with the hotel as we wanted to get away to some sunshine. We chose this hotel as it is located away from the hustly bustly popular areas of Tenerife, it is Adult Only, 4 star and a fair price.

The hotel stands right in the middle of this small town and it can been seen from miles around. The streets are quite narrow and you wonder how it was that its construction was approved. We then noticed a huge picture behind the reception desk showing the hotel being built and there were no other buildings in the vicinity so the hotel was there first and everything else was built afterwards! The receptionist told us the hotel was built in 1964.

We arrived slightly before check in time but were given our room straight away. We paid extra for a sea view and it was well worth it as our 4th floor room looked straight across the pool area to the sea. I understand that the mountain view rooms also have good scenic views but we didn't get to see them. The room was a good size and was very white and modern which we like. There was a flat screen TV on the wall opposite the bed with 5 English channels including Sky Sports. We had a kettle and tea cups plus a small refrigerator. Good size wardrobe space with some drawers. The bathroom was a good size but a little dated and the shower over the bath relied upon a shower curtain. We had a good size balcony with a table and 2 chairs and we ordered lunch from room service every day to eat out there. The whole place was spotlessly clean.

There are 2 swimming pools, one on the waters edge (rocky beach) with plenty of sunbeds although there may not be enough at busier times. The other pool is round the side of the hotel and is much quieter. One is fresh water and one is salt water but I don't know which one is which as we didn't try them!

This is also a Thomson Couples resort so there were a few activities every day such as table tennis, French Boules and a daily quiz.

There is a cafe on site for lunches and we felt the menu was very reasonable e.g. 2 sandwiches cost us approx 8 Euros. Room Service cost an additional 2 Euros.

The dining room was very bright and airy and there were a few outside tables for al fresco dining. We were on a half board basis so we ate breakfast and dinner there. The dining room operated on a self service basis and there was a good choice. Breakfast saw eggs cooked to order how you liked them along with Full english accompaniments! There were cereals, breads, toast, fruits, yogurts, meats, everything you can think of. Dinner always offered a choice of 2 soups (never the same twice during our week there), salads and bread rolls for starters, freshly cooked steaks/chops, a roast and also a couple of dishes with sauces plus veggies, potatoes and chips. Desserts – a whole table of flans, cakes and sweets plus 2 hot deserts such as apple crumble or bread and butter pudding.

The only real negatives for this hotel were the lack of parking spaces for our rental car plus that shower curtain which seemed very attracted to me!!!

We adored the sea view and you wouldn't believe how noisy the sea can be in the night when the waves are breaking on the rocks!

We shall definitely go there again.
