Reasons for trip

Personal / family celebration

We went to Madeira to celebrate our golden wedding. My husband was recovering from cancer treatment. This hotel made us so welcome and gave us a beautiful large room on the top floor overlooking Funchal harbour. We were welcomed by the friendly staff at reception and shown to our lovely room which had fruit and a bottle of champagne on ice waiting for us. The place was spotless and so luxurious, the bed was so comfortable. The week was spent in such a perfect hotel. The dining room was excellent including the kind waiters who kept our table each night. Even the weather could not have been better. We will certainly go back to this hotel as they made our 50th anniversary so special. They are to be recommended. It was so nice to watch the cruise liners arriving and departing as our first visit to Madeira was on board the SS Canberra for our Silver wedding. We look forward to going back soon.
