Walking

I have been to this wonderful 3* family run hotel many times. The welcome and service are always everything one would wish for. We travel as a group of able and disabled skiers and both the hotel and resort suit us perfectly. Everyone goes the extra mile to help. The lift is specially useful giving easy access to all floors and the jacuzzi great for aching muscles. Whichever side your room (many recently refurbished) you look out to a view, either onto the slopes or over the valley. The restaurant and bar have panoramic windows. The hotel is right by the new lift which accesses all slopes and is at the bottom of a green or blue run for skiing back.

Jean- Louis is renowned for his superb cooking with standards equally high in the restaurant and the lunchtime buffet. Full board includes the buffet.

The slopes have a full range of green to black runs with variety of terrain but not too big an area so meeting up is easy. Good phone reception helps too. Snowshoe walks and crosscountry trails are available. Nearby historic Briancon is worth a visit (by car). It has a super warm pool with small chute, an ice rink and Serre Chevalier slopes can be accessed from there.

In summer the mountains are equally beautiful with alpine meadows starting beside the hotel pool and lots of walking on marked trails. Jean-Louis runs a cookery course which a friend recommends (with free time to relax and explore)in early summer.

Note: if the exchange rate improves, value for money will be outstanding.
