An absolutely beautiful setting – on a banana plantation near the sea in the north of Tenerife. Room was nice (we paid extra for one with a balcony which gave us a bit more privacy). The gardens were lovely and the place really peaceful with a tennis court and wonderful pool and poolside garden. Breakfasts however were barely mediocre and really boring, the coffee virtually undrinkable. Evening meals are served just twice a weekand the one we had was very ordinary . The atmosphere in the old fashioned dining room didn't help.
Garachico is a great, unspoilt little seaside town with plenty of good and interesting places to eat. It is, however, a considerable walk from El Patio and you definitely need a car here.
This was our first time in Tenerife and judging from some of the other horrendous places we saw El Patio was a good choice. We enjoyed the peace and beauty of the place. Not sure if we would go back there or not.
