We have been to Nisyros before. It's a fantastic, green , volcanic island in the Dodecanese. But this year, we stayed in the Romantzo, just behind the port, because it was an excellent price and looked good on-line. The owner obligingly sent us extra photos, information and too good an offer to turn down. We arrived early September. The rooms and studios are all you could need, the port is next door (no airport) and the main village a few minutes walk away. For €30 per night we had a studio with kitchen equipment, a huge shared balcony, breakfast , and the other guests were from all over and a pleasure to meet. I can think of no drawbacks unless you don't like the noise of cicadas!
