I picked this hotel in Prague at random, based on their website. I could not have been more fortunate in my choice. Travelling with a friend, we were due to arrive in Prague, which neither of us had visited before, at noon on a Sunday. We emailed the hotel to ask if they could arrange a taxi for us and had a swift reply, saying they would send the hotel car to meet us, no charge. From that auspicious beginning it just got better; the hotel is a 7 minute walk, in a quiet area of the Old Town, from the main square and, in the other direction, from the Old Jewish Quarter. Delivered to the small, but delightful, town house which is Hotel Agnes, we were met by the Receptionist, excellent English skills, who offered us beer, wine, coffee, tea, whilst we completed our registration details. Seeing that we were friends rather than a couple, the receptionist apologised for not picking this up from our web booking and offered to exhange our room with twin rather than a large king bed. That level of attention to detail and guest comfort was shown throughout our stay. We were offered laundry facilities as we'd been travelling and our clean clothes were returned to us by mid morning the next day (again, no charge for this thoughtful service). The level of care and service was quite outstanding; we were offered advice on trips, on restaurants, the hotel car was offered to take us to tourist sites if we needed it, and when coming back into the hotel from walking tours around Prague, to sit in the picturesque lobby, cooling down with Czech beer or wine, was a delight. As our stay came to an end, Martin (the very hands on owner) printed out our airline passes for us, and generously arranged for the hotel car to take us to the airport, again a complimentary journey. The website gives an honest picture of the hotel but other relevant information: the hotel has 24 hour open reception, extremely useful in a City which has concerts and events running late into the night; there are several restaurants within a five minute radius offering a range of food; liquid refreshments are available 24 hours; breakfast is a high quality buffet with a range of food for every taste. The one drawback to this wonderful hotel and its staff is that it only serves breakfast, not having an hotel dining room, and for that reason I've not given it a satisfaction rating of 10. Having said that, so helpful were they I'm sure that if we'd asked they would have arranged a takeaway! Anyone going to Prague, book into Hotel Residence Agnes whilst you can because it's so good that very soon it's going to be impossible to get a room there.
