I chose this Hotel following reviews on Trip Advisor where it is rated as No. 1 although we had considered the Nacional de Cuba. The Parque Central won because of the location as it was right in the middle of all the main sights – Havana old town, the Capitol building etc etc meaning we could easily walk to most of them. Our room was spacious, clean & comfortable although a little 'tired'. It had a good size safe which I managed to get both cameras & a camcorder in as well as passports etc. We ate at the hotel on our first night – it was quite late so we just had a pizza & a nice bottle of Chilean red wine which was approx £20. We ate on the Roof Terrace as we only wanted a "snack" type meal although there were 2 other restaurants in the Hotel. The roof terrace had great views over Havana – sadly we didn't get time to use the rooftop swimming pool. It was the perfect place to watch all the old American cars in the streets below! Breakfast was brilliant – lots to choose from and there was even bottles of chilled Cava so you could make a Bucks Fizz!! Great way to start the day! The food was plentiful – everything was replenished before it ran out which was good (we have stayed in many hotels where things run out because no one seems to be supervising). Food was good quality and eggs cooked to order any way you wanted. Only complaint was that coffee was not self service (unlike the tea) so you had to ask for refills. There were plenty of places to sit in the lobby area which was also the main bar. We had a room on the 7th floor and we slept very well considering my husband is a light sleeper. I would imagine the lower floors at the front of the hotel could be noisy due to the central location. We would not hesitate to choose this hotel if we visited Havana again.
