Being unfamiliar with Florence we booked a City break, and took the hotel which was included in the package. It turned out to be ideal for visiting the city. Although only categorised as three star, it had everything we needed, the continental breakfast was adequate and the staff were very friendly and helpful. But best of all was the location; we were about three minutes walk from the Duomo in the centre, and about 5 minutes from the Academy in one direction and the Uffizi in another. The railway station was ten or fifteen minutes away. We were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to see, and didn't need to use public transport at all, apart from our transfers from Pisa airport. We have plans to go back – Florence is a good centre for exploring the whole area, and will certainly book this hotel again.
