Personal / family celebration

A hidden Gem in a city filled with charm and ancient antiquity. Hotel Des Princes is one of those rare blessings you find when you are least expecting it. My husband and I stayed here 8 nights when we went to spend Christmas with our son studying French for his Masters at the University of Savoie, and we could not have been more pleased.

We hated to leave.! Jasmine and her family and carefully chosen employees made every minute of our stay feel like we were in a home away from home.

Walking into the quaintly decorated lobby "tastefully feeling like Christmas was in the air," made you quickly feel like you had made the right choice for your stay. There was an unexpected little cafe type bar in one corner for enjoying hot chocolate, expresso, or a petite sampling of cheeses that was soon to became our favorite spot to end our day and sometimes meet other guests.

It's one of those few places you stay that you almost forget you are staying in a hotel. When you have to depart and you are telling everyone goodbye by their first name; in your heart and your mind, you are already thinking about how soon you can return.

We loved the tastefully decorated breakfast room where we had our delicious breakfast every morning…one filled with every imaginable and typical French breads, jams, and a full spread of cheeses and meats. The warm atmosphere made us feel almost like we were in someone's French home. We enjoyed lingering there waiting to see what our son had chosen for us to explore and enjoy for the day.

Our room was both comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed the quiet for sleeping, especially on our first night when we were suffering from jet lag.

Hotel Des Princes was everything we needed and more than we expected. It's proximity to everywhere you want to go and want to do was wonderful. We enjoyed walking the quaint streets and tiny alleyways, exploring the small shops, enjoyed eating in nearby local restaurants, and were captivated by the uniqueness of the expansive Open Air Market and grocery store (three times during Christmas) only a few blocks from our doorstep.

You can't go wrong with choosing to stay at the Hotel Des Princes with Madame Jasmine and her friendly staff. Maybe we will see you on our next visit.
