My wife and I booked this all-inclusive holiday with Saga, having firstly researched the hotel on Trip Advisor, where it had very good reviews.
We were not disappointed. The hotel complex is situated a short 15 minute drive from the airport and a 5 minute walk fom the small marina of Puerto Calero. The room we were allocated was excellent – large, clean, with a balcony overlooking the sea and Fuertaventura in the distance. The complex boasts 4 swimming pools including one salt water pool around which an artificial beach has been created. There is an amazing spa within the complex, to which we had free access as Saga guests. The indoor/outdoor pools, the variety of jacuzzi-style areas and the sauna and turkish steam rooms were a real treat!
This was our first-ever all-inclusive holiday and we soon realised that the key to its success was the quality of the meals in the restaurants. The food was outstanding at both lunch and dinner time, with so much choice it was impossible not to try as many dishes as we could manage – and put on a few pounds at the same time! With premium drinks included in the Saga package, we both ate and drank extemely well throughout the 2 weeks.
We spent most of our time in the hotel complex apart from one or two excursions to different parts of the island. It would be easy to spend the whole time in and around the hotel as it has so much to offer, including entertainment in the piano and show bars every evening. We met several people who were returning to the hotel having enjoyed their previous visits so much. This included some disabled guests, for whom the hotel is readily accessible.
We had thought that the temperatures in September would be cooling down, but it was still very hot with highs of 38 degrees. It was a shock to return home to a 'nice' September of 18 degrees! We had really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it highly to anyone who visits the Canary Islands.
