If you're in Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife and you want a special coffee break, try the 5* Hotel Botanico. Although 5*, it is not snobby, simply luxurious and suitable for anyone who appreciates high standards. We sat in a beautiful lounge area and were served coffee and delicate little biscuits on a silver tray. The atmosphere was peaceful. There were wonderful displays of exotic flowers, red anthuriums and orange birds of paradise.
When we'd finished coffee and paid a reasonable price for it, we could wander in the magnificent gardens which seemed to go on and on, with little lakes and tall trees, a black swan and interesting statues. There were bananas growing and yellow orchids, a scented herb garden and bridges to walk across.
After this, there is the chance of book up in one of three restaurants to take lunch in this treat of a hotel. Choose the restaurant you like best, and there's something to look forward to for tomorrow!
