Audley Travel had warned us they had not visited this hotel and only had information from the website. We were guinea pigs. They needed have worried. It is classified as a 5* hotel and is excellent. We really enjoyed our stay.

It is a short drive from the city centre surrounded by high rise housing development. It is set back off road through a security gate. It has a very stylish entrance up steps into a huge glass covered courtyard with comfortable seating and pot plants. Above there are balconies with rooms off. There is a small reception area to right as go in and staff speak good English. There is a bar and restaurant off and stairs down to the swimming pool. Rooms on two floors off balcony which runs round courtyard.

We had a room on the corner of the first floor. We think it may be a disabled room as on the hotel plan it looks bigger than the other rooms. The toilet is in a separate room with a lot of space. It is higher than normal and has rails on the walls.

It was a very nice modern room with lots of space. The hallway had a hanging area and plenty of space for suit cases. Off it was a large bathroom with bath, shower and washbasin. Next to it was a separate toilet with a walk in shower. There were plenty of toiletries, good towels and generous sized bath robes.

We had a huge and very comfortable bed with tables on either side. here was a small table and two easy chairs, good sized work area, minibar with TV above. A kettle provided but no tea bags… When we arrived there was a plate with two mini doughnuts and biscuits.

Rather than go out to find somewhere to eat we ate in the restaurant each night. We were given two bread rolls each and 4 ‘spring rolls’ as well as a bowl with tuna fish, olive oil, harissa and another dip while we studied the menu. Having eaten these we decided we didn’t need a starter. There was plenty of choice on the menu and we had difficulty deciding what to have. We chose beef one night and lamb the next with French fries, broccoli, sprouts, peas, carrots and turnip. It was an excellent meal and good value. There were plenty of staff around and attentive service. My only negative comment is that smoking is allowed in the dining room.

Breakfast didn’t disappoint either. A very good breakfast buffet is provided with plenty of choice. It included a choice of pear or orange juice, oranges, apples, banana, yogurt, dried fruits, cereals, choice of eggs, some hot dishes (unspecified but included rice, soup and a tomato dish). There was tuna, sardines, cold meats, cheese as well as breads, cakes (not dry which made a change), croissant etc. It was the sort of breakfast which sets you up for the day.

Highly recommended.
