My family and I have holidayed in this resort for many years (on and off). We find it to be a great destination for all ages. There are a couple of hotels that we have usually stayed at and always been happy in. Last year we found another hotel that was even better.
The An Fora is a relatively small hotel with good food and friendly staff (some of them English). There are 2 swimming pools.
There was a good range of activities during the day – Archery, shooting, darts, table tennis and pool competitions. We don't always take part in such competitions – but there was something about the atmosphere at the hotel that dragged us in!
There was a good variety of evening entertainments (some more to our taste than others). As well as a selection of singers and comedians there was a parrot show, birds of prey show and reptile show.
The only complaints that we heard were about the lack of air conditioning – fans were available to hire but we survived without. There was talk of air conditioning being installed for 2011 – I don't know if that has happened.
Es Cana is a lovely resort. The main beach in Es Cana is nice enough but make the effort to walk to Cala Nova beach for a more rugged beach.
There is a good local bus service but better still the ferry which takes you to the neighbouring resort of Santa Eulalia as well as Ibiza Town (both well worth a visit). From Santa Eulalia you can also get a ferry to Cala Longa.
There are now night buses if you (or others in your party) want to visit the Clubs or just experience the nightlife in Ibiza Town.
Es Cana has a weekly Hippy Market (a short walk out of town).
