Reasons for trip

Business

Stayed for two nights on business in this town-centre hotel. Reception was very pleasant and professional, and the room was generally well fitted with good quality materials. Twin beds were individually wide enough not to feel cramped (I was booked as a single).

Nice worktable, good armchair. Bathroom had a nice big walk-in shower (no bath – but the walk-in showere suits me much better).

The 'balcony' in this room looked onto a central well – the backs of the other buildings being close as this is part of the old town. Other rooms will overlook the main road, whilst some on the higher floors, at the back, will have a view to the bay similar to that from the roof terrace. Only limited noise from within/outwite the hotel during my visit.

Large breakfast buffet with choice of cold cuts and cheese; whole fresh fruit and limited canned fruit; yoghurts; fruit juice; bread/rolls and pastries/croisants; toast; hot items limited to eggs (fried one day, scrambled the next), with bacon and sausage; tea and coffee.

The safe was too small to take my laptop, which was a nuisance as there was a warning in the room about not leaving valuables – and they wanted you to 'rent' the safe. This type of 'threat' combined with a chargeable safe facility is quite common in Spain, but does make for a bit of a downer in an otherwise nice hotel.
