We had visited Sorrento before, but I'd never had the luxury of staying really close to the sea so this time we'd decided to try and find one that would tick that box. When we arrived in Sorrento, the coach began to drop off other holiday makers. We were told that the bus we were on wouldn't be able to get to our hotel because it was too large. We were transfered to a smaller minibus. As we gradually descended down the hill, we realised to our delight we'd made a fantastic choice! The Hotel Admiral was located in The Marina Grand, it was like a little fishing village in itself, so unspoilt, with fishing boats, lovely fish restaurants, and a tiny sandy beach. Our hotel was the only one in the marina, and it's location was perched on a cliff, close to the sea. We had opted for a balcony with uninterrupted views. Wow! That's what we got! We over looked Vesuvius and also the fishing boats. I was happy to just sit and take in the most amazing location, which never stayed the same. In our room we could even hear the waves! The hotel was described as small and boutique, which it was. A very simple theme of colours and furniture which I loved. The food probably wasn't the best we'd had, but with all those local fish restaurants around, it didn't really matter! Everyone was very friendly, and the staff did excellently to make your holiday fantastic . We will certainly be returning, it's my little taste of heaven on earth!
