My son lives in Hong Kong and I have been fortunate to visit him for the last 20 years so know Hong Kong very well. When I inform friends who are travelling through Hong Kong to other destinations I try to get them to stopover for at least a week. There are so many places to visit , including many islands, and if you enjoy walking there some challenging walks in the mountains.
Recently the Hong Kong government have introduced an Elder Octopus card that is available to visitors as well as locals, this means you can travel on most forms of transport for 2$ HK , any distance, and the famous Star ferry for free!
There are many guides available from the visitor centers including ‘Great Outdoors Hong Kong’ which are free.
There are many hotels to stay in Hong Kong on all budgets on both the Hong Kong island and Kowloon.
I am able to offer any suggestions for members who wish to make there own arrangements.
