My husband and I recently had a fabulous three night break at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel, Birmingham City Centre. We travelled from our local railway station to Birmingham New Street. Upon arrival at New Street we then took a taxi from the station to the Hotel which was only a short ride and the fare was £5.00. The Hotel is very well situated , it is very close to The Mailbox and there are many good restaurants nearby within walking distance. Grand Central and the Bull ring is within walking distance. Upon arrival at the Hotel we were checked in very quickly by a very helpful member of staff, we were asked if we preferred a room on a high or lower floor. We decided on a higher floor and were booked into room number 1701 on the top floor. The view from the room was quite amazing. The bedroom was very modern, clean and tidy. Beds and pillows very comfy. Towels were soft and fluffy. There were drink making facilities in the room and the milks, tea bags, coffees and sugars were replenished every day. There was air conditioning in the room and it was easy to control the temperature. The shower was brilliant it was a power shower and it was of a good size too. The hotel had free wifi and there were plenty of sockets in the bedroom to charge phones and tablets etc. Breakfast was included in the price and was more than adequate consisting of hot breakfast of bacon, sausages, scrambled egg and baked beans. There were muffins, croissants, fresh fruit etc. If people preferred they could even make up a breakfast bap to take away. Food was also available to order at the bar during the night. Drinks at the bar were reasonably priced for a Hotel bar. The bar/restaurant was very nice and we couldn’t fault the service we got, the staff were very friendly and efficient. The Hotel had three lifts . We would highly recommend this Hotel to all age groups.
