I was fortunate enough to enjoy a Day at Henley Regatta on the 1st of July, and found the venue a real treat, suitable for all ages and pockets. However the helpfulness of the stewards has to be questioned, I have mobility problems and due to a very unhelpful taxi driver who refused to bring us into the enclosure as instructed I found myself stranded a mile away from where I needed to be. I asked a steward for assistance (there were many of them) who said as we were not part of the official regatta he couldn’t help and as I asked for a chair he just walked off never to be seen again! I would like to advise people that if you have any issues regarding a disability please check and double check your arrangements as we did but still had problems, if staying in the area do not use a taxi firm called Lodden Cars as they were the cause of our problems by not taking us to the right place to start with and not turning up in the evening at all to return us to our hotel all in all we spent 5 hours in transit due to unhelpful taxi drivers and a steward who could not be bothered!
I would go to Henley again as when we were there it was a great event but altogether spoilt by a few unhelpful individuals .
