If you get the opportunity to travel to Ireland to play golf you really should try and fit in a couple of rounds of golf at the Headfort Club. They have two 18 holes courses imaginatively called Headfort Old and Headfort New!! Regardless of what they are called both courses provide a challenge to golfers of any ability although, if your golf ball is mutually attracted to water then, you may need to have a good supply of balls with you before you start out. The Headfort Arms in the nearby town of Kells ( where the Book of Kells was scribed) provides comfortable and friendly accommodation, which is very much geared towards golfers. Special offers re ‘stay and play’ are often available at very reasonable rates.
