We go to Norfolk most years in the winter to see the birds at the RSPB sites of Snettisham and Titchwell. This year we found a different hotel to stay at, Heacham Manor near Hunstanton. We were very impressed. Some of he rooms are in a courtyard a a hundred yards of so from the hotel, and this was not a problem at all. The room was cosy, not small, but with a desk and hard wired access to the internet. The extra touches are what made the difference. Under their amazing value "winter warmer deal we had home made mince pies and mulled wine on arrival. In the room the usual tea and coffee facilities included fresh milk in a thermos flask and delicious homemade biscuits replenished everyday. The lounge and bar area was well furnished with a warming fire and attentive staff. Best of all was the food in the restaurant. We pigged out on 3 wonderful courses every night, included in a our deal. Breakfast was also very good with a special mention for the eggs benedict. The geese ? Well we couldn't actually see the pink footed geese we went for at Snettisham, nor the spectacle of thousands of knots, it was far too misty. Not that I minded much it was far too nice at Heacham Manor.
