Hardcastle Crags is owned by the National Trust. It is situated about 4 miles outside Hebden Bridge and makes a lovely day trip. There are deep old woods, a sparkling river and lots of walking trails. The old Gibson Mill is at it’s centre. In non covid times apparently you can take a really interesting tour around the mill. While we were not able to enjoy that, we did enjoy ice cream coffee and cake from the take away cafe, there is lots of outdoor seating by the river. Also enjoyed the second hand bookshop.
And there were bluebells, what more could one want!
