Reasons for trip

Personal / family celebration

Were visiting husbands daughter and grandchildren and chose to stay in Liverpool for the night. The hotel was located next to the John Lennon Airport, we arrived on the 5th floor for the hotel allocated parking, and where the hotel was located (on top of the multi-story car park) and could not find a space, so parked just outside the hotel parking in the normal parking as the sign requested. We booked in to the hotel, very efficient receptionist and very quick booking in. We said that we had to park outside the hotel perimeter and would be liable for normal parking charges(which could be very expensive as it was a short stay multi-storey), was told that we would not have to pay a penny as the hotel would issue a ticket for us so we would not incur charges. Brilliant. We had requested a quiet room (which to be honest we thought would be a miracle seeing as we next to the runway), we were given a room on the 11th floor (room 610), pristine inside, with a large double bed, plus a sofa. Lovely big window with fantastic views across the river and countryside beyond. Was also good for viewing the planes taking off and landing. We could not believe how quiet the room was. No noise at all from the airport. In the evening we got a bit hungry and had a beefburger with fries and salad garnish. Which was really tasty and well worth the money. Not a huge selection of meals. But adequate. The service was quick. We did not have many coffees in the room so asked Marie who was doing the bar reception who helped us with getting some of those plus some more milk to take up to our room. One of the outstanding things about this hotel was the staff, especially Marie. She was a real ambassador for the hotel and could not help us enough. All the staff were helpful and good at their jobs. As said before the room was spotless, as was all public areas, bar, lifts, reception etc. Breakfast in the morning was good, not much in the way for waiting to get hot food and the selection was good. True to their word, as we booked out, were given a ticket to cover the cost of our stay for the car park machine. We really enjoyed our stay, and would use this hotel again-no hesitation.
