Halls Gap is a wonderful place to stay and explore the Grampians in Australia. The Grampians have spectacular scenery. But if you want to get up close and personal with the wild life, stay in a log cabin in Halls Gap. You wake up to kangaroos and emus grazing just outside your bedroom window. Literally a few inches away from you.
We don't normally choose self-catering, but the log cabins offer so much more than hotels. If you go in the winter you can light your own log fire using the wood they provide. If you go in the summer you can eat breakfast outside and watch the kangaroos.
The proprietors are very friendly and have lots of suggestions for places to visit. But the Tourist Information is just a short drive away in the village, where there are restaurants and a shop.
