It is situated on the East cliff with commanding views of the sea.Our front sea facing room was large and comfortable with tea making facilities. The king size bed was very comfortable. It has great amenities..indoor/outdoor swimming pool, gardens ,lounges,The breakfast is a good buffet choice and the evening meal in the dining room has a good choice of menu with well cooked ample portions .The staff are very attentive and nothing is a problem.Sadly, there was a cliff landslide a couple of years ago so the cliff lift is out of order. To get to town is either by taxi or a walk down a slope to the sea or down the road which takes you into the town, shops….which takes about 10 mins.Depending on your mobility you can either take a taxi back or walk back up.The beaches are very clean, the pier is invigorating.Apart from shops there is a park, theatre, cinema and casino.A bus outside the hotel takes you to neighbouring locations. The only downside is that this Grand Old Lady looks a bit tired under the glistening chandeliers..it needs a lick of paint!
There is a parking charge which was waived because I have a Blue Badge….I know a lot of hotels now charge for parking but I do think that patrons shouldn’t be charged!
