Hallgarth Country Manor Hotel is a popular venue for weddings and family celebrations in the village of Pittington, three miles east of Durham City.
The Hotel is part of a 16th Century residential estate set in 4 acres of spectacular grounds discreetly modernised to retain many of it’s original features.
It has an enormous car park, so you will not have any problem finding a space for your motor whether it’s a Bentley or a Mini.
The Sunday Carvery here is something special with a choice of three different meats, a vegetarian option or a fish dish, then choose your own Yorkshire Puddings( Proper Yorkshire Puddings) and Vegetables. Starters start from £2 and Deserts are £3.75.
The Dining Room is large and roomy with large and small round tables covered with crisp white linen tablecloths, with views that look out on the lawn and garden..
There is no doubt that this is a quality meal, with the option of a delicious sweet.
I, of course, had both!
