Wonderful hotel for our two day stopover in Barcelona this August. Greeted in cool spacious air conditioned hall, offered a fruit juice, cava or iced water immediately when checking in. Whilst our room would not be ready till 3pm staff showed thoughtfulness by inviting us to sit on a comfy sofa with a member of the reception staff who having established this was our first visit to Barcelona brought out a map, showing us our location and important sites to walk to should we wish, plus shops.

Our air conditioned room was spotless, overlooking the hotel pool and deck lined with plush sunbeds and umbrellas. There was a direct lift access and a disabled chair hoist for those needing this. Our bathroom was very modern with a large mirror, walk in wet room and very generous toiletries i.e. comb, nail file, tissues, cotton wool pads, shoe pad and fresh flowers.

We enjoyed a generous breakfast selection sitting in the shaded courtyard outside garden on the ground floor, beautiful water cascade on one wall, no traffic noise whatsoever. Refreshments were served at all times to order – an oasis of peace. And free WiFi!

When our taxi did not arrive on time the receptionist Paola called them, waiting with us on the pavement, luggage and all, to see us safely on our way to the cruise terminal, like an anxious aunty!
