This “complements”:https://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/review/attraction/193791-review-groudle-glen-railway the review I wrote last year.
We visited the Isle of Man again this summer and the Groudle Glen Railway was top of the list to visit. It now has two new arrivals – Brown Bear which has been built by the Railway and is a replica of the original Polar Bear which is now at Amberley Museum. It was out pulling trains each time we visited, along with Sea Lion, who we hadn’t seen last summer.
The Railway also has another new arrival, “Otter”:http://www.ggr.org.uk/new-steam-locomotive-otter/ , a splendid small bright blue steam engine built by North Bay Railway Engineering Works in Darlington. She was in steam in the yard at Lhen Coan but not pulling trains.
They were another four good visits (although the cake selection possibly wasn’t as good as last time!)
Staff are welcoming and friendly and both grandsons managed to get footplate rides – what more could you want!
