There is no dedicated parking for the museum, although there is on street parking. It is possible to drop off and pick up visitors at the door.
There are eight steps up into the museum, although there is a small lift giving access.
There is disabled access to all ground floor rooms in the main museum (both Roman galleries) and 20 Castle Street.
There is no disabled access to the upper floors, so the natural history, silver and art gallery are not accessible. Only the Victorian rooms are accessible in 20 Castle Street.
There is a disabled toilet.
