To avoid the storms – Brendan, Keira, Dennis, who can keep up – we headed to Grayshott to take advantage of their discounted Winter Sunday night offer. For me a welcome return, a first for my husband.
Arriving shortly after lunch we headed for the swimming pool and Jacuzzi before stretching out on the poolside loungers to read the Sunday papers. Bliss. Over the course of the afternoon and during Monday – insider tip: a one-night stay allows you to use the facilities until 5pm the next day – we booked some fabulous treatments. He had a deep tissue massage and declared it to be one of the best he’s ever had and a much needed pedicure (sorry chaps but this is often an overlooked area!). Meanwhile, I had a supreme anti-ageing facial and also a pedicure, both brilliant. One of the stand-out qualities at Grayshott is the caliber of their therapists, many have worked there for years.
We also managed to fit in some extensive walking on the adjacent Bramshott Common, part of 700 acres of National Trust land. As ever the food was nutritious , innovative and plentiful.
We came back to London feeling thoroughly rested and refreshed, as though we’d had a long weekend away. Amazing what a difference one night can make!
