Reasons for trip

Only minutes from the city centre. The False Creek area of Vancouver, once swampland has been transformed into a vibrant cultural centre. An industrial wasteland not too many years ago Granville Island is home to theatres, museums, a brewery, craftshops, glassblowers, potters, boatbuilders and cafes. The bustling famous food market is superb. The best way to arrive and depart – take the frequent False Creek Ferries.

Granville Island used to be one of Vancouver's best kept secrets. Not any more.
