We were staying in Vancouver and decided to visit Granville Island by Water Bus. The Water bus in itself is a great experience and you get to see the floating houses from it too. The main attraction on the Island for me was the food market. Apples the size I have never seen before, just huge and cherries the size of a table tennis ball. Triple sized Danish pastries. There was just so much I wanted to buy and try. The ice creams are also fab – I had mango and banana. There is also a small cafe which serves BELTCH Bacon, egg, lettuce, cheese and ham – who knew! This was also the place I got the best cup of tea for my whole holiday in Canada.
There is also a craft brewery on the Island, which is VERY popular, so you may have to queue as we did. We went away went back and the queue was even longer. You get to have a flight of ales and some snacks, great fun and great tasting beers.
We spent a whole day on the Island – there are some lovely shops too, plenty to see and do.
