Reasons for trip

Relaxation

I love this hotel & have visited it now two Octobers on the trot. The staff are lovely in all departments & cannot do enough for you. It is also RELAXED in the extreme & does not have any "regimental-type" rules on taking food/drink to your rooms etc. etc. It is very free & easy. Public room decor is splendid in all respects. Food variety is super & it represents excellent value for money being on an "all-inclusive" basis.(Italy IS expensive!)

I went with Cosmos- a tour company that I do trust & admire – they have, historically, served me well. I certainly will book with them again.

However, just a wee tip for you "silver surfers" out there- who may wish to visit Lake Como soon. Instead of paying the balcony/Lake view room upgrade with your tour operator – which, in my case – amounted to approx. £250 for a weeks wonderful Lake view room- I would advocate (having been tipped-off by reception!) that it is better to wait until arrival at said hotel & pay the reception on site. The charge then is only 140 euros- saving about £110. This is certainly what I will do NEXT YEAR on my THIRD return visit! Knowledge IS power- in this case representing a super saving indeed. Chow for now!!!
