This is just the right kind of hotel for a city stay. It’s in the ancient town of Poitiers, and is a good base for exploring the region. .( What’s more, it has underground parking – no insignificant matter in these narrow, medieval streets!).
It’s immaculately clean, with friendly staff, absolutely in the centre of everything but set back in a quiet courtyard. The theme is supposedly 1930s – but it’s not over the top and rather plain. We had a spacious sunny room overlooking a rooftop terrace. In the summer you can have drinks or breakfast out here.
There’s no restaurant in the hotel (though many restaurants within a few steps) but a pleasant bar and we thought the breakfast was first class – they really, really care about the quality of the produce they use.
Nice bathroom, lots of hot water, thick towels – the usual. This is a comfortable, well modernised, clean though not de luxe base and I’d happily stay here again when in Poitiers.
