We have stayed at the hotel previously back in 2019, and was interested to see what differences there would be because of Covid 19 and any protocols in place.
On a positive note; the check in was quick with the receptionist telling us they had opened up just 2 weeks prior after being closed for over 12 months. You wouldn’t have been able to tell as most things ran smoothly and the hotel operated just as we remembered.
We had a room located on the side and the view was poor, if you plan on spending a lot of time in the room I think the upgrade to a front facing room is probably worth it, however, as we spend little time in the room it didn’t trouble us too much.
Breakfast time was quiet and well managed, you were encouraged to use a glove to pick up food items and there was a good buffet range. Egg station managed with staff member cooking fresh eggs, omelettes, pancakes, etc. Champagne available if you should so wish – we did!
The pool area can be a challenge, the hotel was busy and there can be an issue in securing beds, the position of the pool means that some areas can be either in the shade all day or the sun all day! Menu at the pool bar is via a QR code and whilst the food was good it’s expensive as you would expect from a 5* hotel.
The room feels a little dark and there is limited hanging space but Clarins toiletries and super comfy beds and black out blinds make up for the niggles.
We had pre-dinner cocktails a couple of evenings and the ambience is very relaxed, again QR code for drinks menu and service was good.
Staff throughout the hotel wear masks.
Our main reason for choosing the hotel is that we like a pool for the family, it’s a good location and most other 5* in Palma are boutique in the old town which whilst lovely can be quite noisy.
All in all a good stay and any Covid 19 protocols employed by the hotel didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment of our stay.
