We arrived at the hotel after a gruelling 9 hour flight and were greeted with refreshing fruit drinks. A Bell Boy took our luggage to the room and carried upstairs for us. Excellent from the onset! The room itsle fhad a few problems to start with, broken ipod player, no light one side of the bed and cabinet door not closing. These were fixed within 24 hours. Mini Bar refilled every day free of charge, beds and towels done every day. Maid excellent at cleaning the room and very fastidious about everything she did for us. Food in the main restaurant wasn't very varied on some days but the A La Carte were fantastic! Unlike other hotels we have stayed in, we could go the the A La Carte as many times as we wanted to do. The Spanish, Mexican and Brazilian were our favourites with excellent food throughout the meal. There were young entertainers at the pool every day doing water polo, water volleyball and aqua aerobics. Far too energetic for me I must say. The beach was fantastic with water sports available for those wanting to participate. There was a sports bar that we went in every day, (it was air conditioned and the temp was 111 degrees or thereabouts on most days), watching football or baseball and playing cards at night. Drinks and food there and the food was freshly cooked for everyone. Staff very polite and helpful. Our tour rep Sharon from Thomson/First Choice was amazing! She even arranged wheelchair assistance for my husband both at Punta Cana and Manchester airports. A word of warning though for everyone travelling to Punta Cana. Beware of the Russians!! They were very ignorant, pushy,(literally), and unable to wait for anyone. They just pushed their way past all the Brits, who were patiently waiting to go through immigration. They were just the same at the hotel as well. Despite this we can thoroughly recommend this hotel, its staff, A La Carte restaurants and our rep Sharon. Go and enjoy you'll be very happy I can guarantee it!
