Halfway down the promenade of Mumbles you will encounter a takeaway with a grand view of Swansea bay. The latter well-used by yachts and determined swimmers crossing this wide stretch. This seafood hut serves up on the spot freshly cooked delights.
Popcorn cockles are the local delicacy cooked in cornflour, lightly fried and a smudge of hotness. Large portion for £5, this was just the right starter for my June walk on the prom in the summer of 2021. The hut also has the history of its conception on an Italian vacation. They brought the Med to the Gower and it’s a true delight. Catch the fare on the chalked up board!
