To celebrate a 21st birthday during a very strange year, we visited Haldon Park. It’s a lovely wooded area just outside Exeter with marked cycle paths, ranging from family fun to harder difficulties and also walking trails. We found the Gruffalo and some large musical instruments along the way. There is a lovely cafe and plenty of toilet facilities, with bike hire available. However, we had gone for the Go Ape experience in the tree tops along the high wires and zip lines. With mounting trepidation on my part, we booked in. The rangers were fantastic, in explaining the rules and giving us a practise before going on the actual course. What followed was 2 hours of exhilarating, challenges and to be honest some knee knocking moments from me. Rangers are never far away if needed. A certificate is given at the end. Would recommend to anybody, although be warned, I found muscles long neglected!
