My husband and I ( No, I am not royalty!) stayed at this Gite in a small village, Villerserine, in the Jura region of France. It was one of the most relaxing breaks I have ever experienced. From our bed we had a delightful view over the surrounding garden/land. The Dutch owners ( who speak fluent English and French) have created this gite, and their own home from a large farm building. The Gite is completely separate from their house, with its own front door and ample parking, terrace and garden. The interior is furnished and equipped beautifully, lacking for nothing that we could find. There is even a washing machine and tumble dryer. There are places to visit in the surrounding area, both natural and historical. There is the home of Louis Pasteur for example and no dearth of wine tasting opportunities, though early October is not the best time for wine tasting. Many Caves are closed as they are busy harvesting. I cannot recommend this holiday stay too highly. We are aged 68 and 72 and found total comfort. They have a website, gitelestulipes.com which gives full information and photos. There are, however, stairs, which might not suit someone with limited mobility, though there are banisters. And the en-suite bathrooms figure bath with shower over. I managed alright as the baths are not too deep.
