We visited Guildford to attend a concert at the G Live theatre. It is newly built and is a credit to Guildford. I had one or two questions to ask of the staff before our visit and they were all treated with great courtesy and helpfulness, even to the point of remembering a question that I had had a couple of weeks before – the stage manager had remembered and sent me the running order the day before. Very hlepful. We enquired about eating before the show and the catering manager kindly told me what they would be serving and booked us a table for the meal. Again very helpful. When we got to the theatre we were most impressed by the look of the place and the layout of seating was wonderful. It was the sort of concert where some people like to stand and others wish to be seated. They had sorted that out so that there was a fair sized area at the front for the standers, but lots of tiered seats for those who wished for a bit more comfort. The disabled seating was very impressive, with several seats with a gap between for a wheelchair. The sound system was very good and we were most impressed by the whole quality of the place. The theatre is at the top of the town, so walkable from any part of the main town. We stayed about 20 minutes away which gave us a breath of fresh air before bedtime. Well done G Live, we hope to return.
