We tried the taster menu which, at £34.50, was really good value. We knew it was going to be great as the fresh homemade bread was gorgeous. The six starters were very good. The chef is Italian and has sourced good Italian antipasti, and made a small bowl of tasty soup and some excellent carbonara. One of us decided to try the fish main, and the other the meat main, so that we could try both. The small piece of cod was perfectly cooked, crispy golden skin and very tasty, and the sea bass also delicious. The pork was tasty being caramelised with apples and the beef tender. The six desserts were to die for.
We had a lovely evening in a lively place with a good atmosphere. The serving staff were quick to respond and the owner/ front of house was very attentive and checked regularly that everything was ok as well as being very chatty with the guests.
We would happily go back and have the same menu, but will probably try the a la carte in order to try more of this great chef’s fare.
