We have just came back from a family holiday in Halkidiki. I wasnt eeally excited about going away due to commitments at home. We flew from Birmingham airport which was a total disaster. So when we arrived at our accomadation i was quite unhappy. Until i seen the beautiful friendly face of Anna. She checked us in and had us escorted to our room . Lucky for me, I beleive that I got the best room in the hotel room 102. It is 2 doors drom reception and being on the ground floor our patio opened upon the lovely terrace , then the bar and one of the pools. The staff that the owners employ are all family or friends that respect the owner. Now i’m not sure if its tje Greek people in general whobare amazing or because the owner is good with his staff. But wither way, the staff treat each and every holiday maker as a personal friend. Being a person that normal foes to large groups of hotels and all inc. This was totally different to what i would choose. To be honest my son rang me whilst i qas in forte ventura to ask if we wanted to go aling with them , so i said go ahead and book it. I have never been so happy with a booking before.
Each morning we would do exercise in the pool with the Animation. Also not forgetting the funny darts that we all competed in.
On the afternoon we would also do aquaaerobics. It was auch fun . The guy who took these classes “Pacco” was just the funniest guy. Afterclass we were always given a free shot. The owner tendes to give away hundreds of shots of Ouzo .
This is ever so leathal. They do amazing no frills cocktails.
So one evening we won €220 on the hotel bingo. Unfortunately we had celebrated with the free shots and also the nice cocktails only £8 each. So we were a lot inebriated and wandered off to bed .(remember room is next to bar);we were the last men standing. The next day wenhad a word with the boss and his pool guy had found the money laying on the table and handed it in along with hair tools my family jad loaned then returned to me. Which i left on the table. I really really have never experienced such honesty . So that speaks for itself .
We could go from pool to pool yet leave our belongings onnthe loungers. I.e mobiles ,books ,suncreams ,earplugs , you get the picture. We never had any item touched.
They employ a really lovely family friend who goes around the lower pools all day delivering your drinks to the seat you are sitting at. If like us we had left our purse ar the other pool . He just leaves
Your tab on his handheld computer which they all seemed to use. He would orser and the barstaff had it on the tray for him when he got there . This made his service exceptional.
The evening entertainment was cheap and cheerful. (With exception to the bingo , hence the recovered €220),
Anyway we joined into the fun entertainment with Pacco. My daughter in law used to be a holiday rep. So she was amazing. Her and Pacco bounced off each other. Once again the owners of the hotel qould address you by name. Pne evening qe were out on the beachfront having a family evening meal, the hotel owners werw eating at the same hotel. So they sent a table of drinks over what they had bought us. Now where else would you get that service. One evening during tje rush of every peraon wanting the shower then ready and out my grandaughter went to speak to Anna on reception with an haoibrush in her hand. So Anna brushed her hair for hair.
The food in the restaurant is acceptable yet sometimes basic. I mamaged becaise i enjoy salad and i enjoy fruit so that was fine. I forgot to mention that there is an adult only pool . Complete with 4 poster beds in the pool and also setback from the pool. The music was pleasant and the bar staff would play the music wirhin reason at peoples request.
I hope that this helps some one. To choose a lovely friendly family run hotel. Only a short walk to the beach. This is definitely worth a try if you like a quiet relaxed holiday.
